RTS Workshop 2014

Today is already tomorrow. For the first time on stage in Milan: Googleglass, mobile applications and new application solutions for process management, all geared towards companies in the sector.

During the event held on 3 April at the prestigious Radisson Blu Hotel in Milan, there was an in-depth analysis of the megatrends that will improve the processes of companies operating in the world of cardboard, as well as of technology solutions that will enable companies to meet the challenges of the future.

The RTS specialists, along with members of the specialised press and experts from leading consulting firms and high-level technology partners, offered a broad overview of the megatrends that will change the way companies do business in the world of cardboard, all to an audience of about 100 selected operators and national and international guests; they talked about concrete solutions that allow companies to take advantage of new technological scenarios, increasing their productivity, efficiency, competitive potential and their profits.

The working sessions were opened by Gastone Partisani (Chairman of RTS) and by Marco Bernardo (General Manager of GIFCO), and saw the participation of Roberto di Lellis (RCS) and Vittorio Arighi (Practice Leader of NetConsulting); respectively, they introduced the topics of the new macroeconomic scenarios and the main technology trends that will mark the changes in the coming years on a global scale.

Mauro Mercadante (co-founder of RTS), Robertino Piazza (Technical and R&D Manager) and Massimo Partisani (Executive Director) conducted in-depth sessions discussing the technologies and services that RTS and its partners provide to companies in the sector. The main focus prioritized issues such as solutions for manufacturing, logistics, business, sustainability and business process management, all in keeping with the Smart Company approach that RTS uses as an operating paradigm to define the analysis phases of issues, priorities, project planning and custom interventions in terms of software solutions and services necessary to enable change.

Particular interest was shown in a demonstration of the use of Googleglass technology applied to logistics and warehousing processes: this showed how wearable technologies enable companies to operate more quickly, efficiently and safely even in complex business environments.

During the workshops, the participants were able to learn about in-depth case studies on sustainability and optimization of production and business processes, all from the mouths of experts: Matteo Cappelletti (Commercial Director of Euroscatola S.p.a.), Luca Diamante (Supply Chain Manager of Euroscatola S.p.a.), Roberto Magnaghi (Managing Director of Interseroh), Massimo Manfredi (Sales Manager Area Energy of Onit Group srl), Gianluca Cunial (Plant Manager of Scatolificio Ondulkart S.p.a.) and Andrea Del Martino (Project Manager of Ghelfi Ondulati S.p.a.).

At the end of the debate that ended a packed day's work, Gastone Partisani said: "The 2014 edition of the RTS Executive Workshop has once again demonstrated the importance that firms in the world of cardboard give to innovative technologies which are capable of enabling the evolution of business processes, by improving the security of resources and the quality of the environment that surrounds us. I am particularly pleased with the quality of the content and level of participation of many stakeholders who have contributed to the success of this event. In our view, it represents an important opportunity for discussion between experts, analysts, solution providers and companies, all brought together by the desire to define concrete and pragmatic approaches, useful for the development of businesses in the sector".
